Stephanie's Thoughts

 

Looking at this I can’t believe I write this much on a game a hardly watched.

I will write about the horrid game that we partially saw that dreaded morning. Being extremely pumped for this game even though we weren’t sure that it would be broadcasted, I expected a win and an end to the winning streak of Vakifbank. Boy was I extremely disappointed to the extreme of the outcome. Great now I feel like crying in this damn lab. I can’t believe that we played that bad and that horribly. It hurts. We didn’t even give Vakifbank a run of their money.

And I hate the fact that Women’s volleyball was right (hate her f-ing guts) and that Bartek of Russia got it wrong.

Now time for the dreaded analysis, I can write of what I saw and what the statistics said.

Della Wella Poo when you said that Vakif won the first set 25-10 I thought you was dead stinkin’ freakin kiddin’. It really shocked me. Thinking about now I am getting goose bumps.

Continuing. What I saw was a disorganized team with no chemistry. I really hurt me deep when I saw that every time Yeon Koung got the ball none of them became points because Vakif (knowing the scoring machine that she is and that Vakif isn’t that great at defense when comes to Yeon Koung).

Side Note : I think that Guitetii loves playing Fener because of the thrill Yeon Koung gives him by not giving up, probably that’s why he wants Yeon Koung to always be on the opposite side of the net. And I think innerly he was upset (maybe worried) because Yeon Koung didn’t play her best and wasn’t in a game fierce mode.

 I honestly, truly and factually believe why our team didn’t play well is because it is not a team who knows and cares for each other. No mutual love.

Each person:

Alisha- as a great wonderful setter that she is. SHE CANNOT CONNECT WITH YEON KOUNG. I can’t believe that no one sees this. And that is a MAJOR problem that needs immediate attention. How can the BEST player in the world attack with such a low percentage. Just looking back at Alisha in other teams (USA included) she isn’t a person that connects with everyone. A tad bit distant from everyone else. Not helping the issue of a disconnected team especially if she is setter. I honestly don’t know what her technique is except to go as fast as possible to avoid the block, but should be some layway.

            Eda and Glokchan: I think are perfect Turkish MB duo in Fener’s team. And add more happiness in the atmosphere which we NEED in this team. Glocken, I think is underrated, can block and score. Perfectly fine. Eda is better as she can score and block greatly.

            SEDA: My beautiful and wonderful and perfect (dang getting teary eyed) captain doesn’t need all this negativity and criticism around her but encouragement and belief. She beats herself down already. She can do well and perform like a boss if one believes. She gets discouraged so quicky when she gets blocked and I KNOW that she tries hard. But when she can’t score don’t beat her down. She is human after all. If Seda is sad than the atmosphere goes down, right now our team needs great atmosphere.

            Elif B.- When the atmosphere is down PUT Elif in. She will bring IT UP. Our stupid coach last year even knew that (as she came the year he coached great choice Kamil). Abonndanza take that hit. She is good at receiving and could attack fearlessly with a creative play. Don’t put Derya in all the time as she can’t attack and her serves are generic whereas Elif has a great serve at stressful moments.

            Merve: I don’t remember much of her in the game. But she COULD perform well just a tad inconsistent. BUT I feel that she is being put down by Abondanza probably why her lack of great reception. And she is still young (Derya not so much) and it is her FIRST time being in the starting six line up. She can definitely bring the atmosphere up. And is very happy-go-lucky.

            Aneta: a great scoring machine. She played an okay game. BUT THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT SHE IS ALSO DISTANT. Like Alisha. Which is why there is still no connection or a drive to perform above the limit. We need to be a FAMILY in order to do good and Vakifbank already has that down. She and Alisha have connection but they are not connected as team members. Aneta is not very much a team player just like Alisha. They don’t bring up the moment/atmosphere at times.

            Yeon Koung- the precious Yeon Koung the most PERFECT human on earth. The volleyball DEITY. When she doesn’t play well and has a demoralized being about her then you know something is WRONG because she can work MIRACLES and it is proven that she can. SHE IS A COMPLETE TEAM PLAYER because she bring everyone up from the rumbles. A real superhero. But in this game she had no LIGHT in her EYES and NO FIGHT IN HER which hurts me to see that as a true fan. There is no team atmosphere or love which led to horrible play. This team ended up being a team without a cause. Which caused us to play WORSE than last year and that was a TEAM full of SUBS.

            Abbondanza: THE CAUSE OF ALL THE PROBLEMS. The DESTROYER OF THINGS HAPPY AND FULL OF GLEE. Personally I don’t think that Abbondanza allows no one to be happy on the court. This is where Kamil EXCELLED he got players to join and be together. THUS A HAPPY MEDICORE TEAM THAT FOUGHT VAKIFBANK TOOTH AND NAIL. And I also believe well AT LEAST Abbondanza should have kept some of the staff that was there before instead of a complete new one of STIFF and DRY OLD PUNKS. I miss Muret Canbakal, Turgay, the Spainish guy, and those two athletic guys that would be the attacking force when they practiced. THESE ARE THE MEN ZE PUT TO TAKE CARE OF THE GIRLS. There should be a riot and every have some of the people back. NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY RABITA DIDN”T LISTIN TO ABBONDANZA IN THE END and THE SAME WITH THE BULGARIAN NATIONAL TEAM.

I think I am done if more needs to be added than it will.
